Brett Monroe Garner and Chris Neighbors are a team of conservation documentarians who use video, photo, and field based reporting to bring light to stories affecting marine ecosystems and the coastal communities that rely on them. They met in graduate school at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and have been collaborating since 2013.
Brett Monroe Garner is a marine biologist, photographer, and educator. He earned degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Beyond research interests, he is a storyteller--communicating science and environmental issues. He uses the images he creates to encourage others to experience, enjoy, and protect the world we share.
Chris Neighbors is a filmmaker with 10 years of experience in television, film, and new media. Armed with a Master’s Degree from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas’s film department, Chris aspires to tell the stories of the ocean. Specializing in cinematography, he hopes to capture audiences by revealing the wonder and beauty of every coast.
